On Aug. 21, Lockheed Martin hosted an event to recognize and honor Crissair, Inc. with the Elite Supplier Award for their excellence in support of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program. The event also gave local media an opportunity to view and “fly” an F-35 Cockpit Demonstrator. Rep. Steve Knight (CA-25)  attended the event and gave remarks in recognition of Crissair’s contributions to national security and the local economy. The event was held at Crissair’s headquarters in Valencia.

“The F-35 Lightning II is not just another aircraft,” Knight said. “It represents a generation leap in stealth, lethality, survivability, and cost effectiveness. It will be a centerpiece of the future American air and strike supremacy.”

Knight continued:

“This program has made tremendous strides since the first model came off the production line. Since then, over 300 aircraft have been delivered to the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps, as well as our allies around the globe. Costs have been cut nearly sixty percent, giving our forces next-generation capabilities at current-generation prices. Here in the 25th District, we are proud to have many of our local businesses provide the components and assembly for this vital program. The F-35 will bolster our national security while simultaneously bringing jobs and economic strength to our community. Thank you to to Crissair President Mike Alfred for your continued service to the nation and to Lockheed Martin for hosting this event today.”

Crissair, Inc. was founded in 1954 and manufactures quality precision components for both military and commercial aircraft. On the F-35, Crissair supplies precision-crafted valves, joints, adapters, and other vital components.
