ID in Lancaster fatality

Authorities have identified a motorist who was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Lancaster.

The crash occurred about 10:30 p.m. July 19 at the intersection of Avenue I and Seventh Street East, according to Sgt. D Jennings of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lancaster Station.

Ralph Johnson, 62, of Inglewood died at the scene, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office reported.

Johnson was driving a 2000 Ford Taurus that ws turning from Seventh Street East to Avenue I when a Nissan Armada crashed into the driver’s side of the Ford, Jennings said.

Two passengers in the Ford were seriously injured, Jennings said. The driver of the Nissan suffered minor injuries.
