The city of Carson made history recently as it earned its title as the Guinness World Records title holder for “Most People Making Slime Simultaneously.”

Thousands of citizens came to celebrate Community Friendship Day during the weekend of the 4th of July to celebrate Independence Day. More than 1,000 people participated in the sticky encounter, beginning from age 2 to parents of all ages.

“In celebration of our beloved nation’s Independence Day, for the first time in Carson’s history, the city of Carson now can add to its laurels that we are the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title holder for ‘Most People Making Slime Simultaneously,’” said Carson Mayor Albert Robles. “It makes me proud that thousands of constituents, as well as citizens from surrounding cities, came to participate in this fun, exciting and historic event.”

The Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce SouthBay Los Angeles, which has been a partner-organizer of Community Friendship Day celebration every year, co-sponsored this event as a way to give back to the Carson community.

YouTube’s “Slime Queen” Karina Garcia also made a special appearance and participated in the event.
