The Palmdale Playhouse,  38334 10th St. East in Palmdale, will  host on July 14 a One Day Film School from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Taught by Hollywood’s greatest film instructor, Dov Simens, the man credited  with launching the film careers of artists like Quentin Tarantino, Will Smith, and Queen Latifah, this one day, two part workshop is geared for ages 17 years  and older.

Part one, “Filmmaking A-Z,” will teach the step-by-step process for taking your idea and screenplay from soup-to nuts with shooting, directing, and editing your  first feature film. Part two, “Deal Making A-Z,” discusses the proven method to maximize  global revenues by attending film festivals, getting an agent, and securing distributors to  capitalize on 40+ money making streams, as you go from theatrical box office to DVD  sales, cable/TV deals, foreign licensing, and IPTV revenues.

“Have an idea and want to make a Hollywood movie?” asked Annie Pagliaro, Palmdale recreation supervisor. “You can produce, write, or direct a feature film  with the information this intensive course delivers.”

The fee is $68.75. The course number is 9873. Register online at www.PlayPalmdale.com.
