The crash happened about 6:50 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the Sierra Highway at Rancho Vista Boulevard, sheriff’s Detective E. Saucedo said.

Joshua Pittario, 31, of Palmdale was driving a 2006 silver, Ford Focus was heading north on Sierra Highway when his car drifted onto the sidewalk, hit a wooden fence pole on the bike path, and caromed into a Metrolink control house, where it caught fire, Saucedo said.
