This Saturday (May 26), radio personality and activist Orrin Hudson will host a charity event called Chess for Charity, where young people and community leaders such as Hudson will play chess to learn life lessons and raise money for Hudson’s community organizations that benefits young people. While it’s free to attend the event, donations are encouraged; proceeds will go to Be Someone, which has already reached 61,000 young people with its message: “Peach, Positivity and Purpose.” Dr. Rashad Richey, a personality on WAOK-AM in Atlanta, will also be on hand for the gathering. Said Hudson, “By teaching children to out think the competition, young people will learn to respect others, think before they make dangerous moves and give more than they take.” A concept of Hudson’s efforts includes “Brains Before Bullets.” Another one of his messages is the anthem: “get your hands up, get your pants up, get your grades up and never give up!” For more information, go to www.BeSomeone.org
