Los Angeles City Councilman Curren Price, along with Lt. Col. Gilbert Roldan of the California Army National Guard, have announced a special Memorial Day ceremony scheduled for noon Monday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The free event will honor the brave men and women who died while serving in the United States military. The ceremony will begin with the lighting of the Coliseum torch flanked by several U.S. Flags flying above the Peristyle Plaza.

The event will last a little more than one hour and will feature the California World War I Centennial Task Force, the Los Angeles County Fire Department Honor Guard, and World War I reenactors. There will be a ceremonial wreath laying and the playing of taps by a bugler.

On-site parking will be $12.
