A cop in Henry County, Georgia, has been placed on administrative leave after a video showing him violently arresting a former NFL player spread like wildfire on social media. The incident happened in December 2017 and was placed on Desmond Marrow’s Facebook page. He reportedly played for the Houston Texans as a defensive back. He said the police arrested him for having a gun, although all he had in his hand was a cell phone. “During the arrest, the police knocked my teeth out, slammed me on my head and choked me out until I was unconscious,” he said on Facebook. He said he also received a shoulder strain and was diagnosed with a concussion. Marrow added that he did not resist police. The cop who initiated the arrest claims he heard Marrow say he was going to “shoot them,” as he argued with some people over a road rage incident. Cops asked Marrow if he had a gun, he said he didn’t and the cops patted him down but found nothing. However, they still attempted to arrest him and that’s when three officers tried to take him down. According to Marrow’s attorney, he was already handcuffed. One of the three officers was placed on administrative leave on Friday (April 27) as an internal investigation is underway.
