Ja’mal Green, an activist who is a member of Black Lives Matter, has announced that he intends to run for mayor of Chicago. Green was born and raised in the Windy City. One of his high profile activities, in addition to actively participating in protests against police shooting of Black men, is working as a fundraiser for a new youth center of Chicago’s South Side.
