The Black Lives Matter organization accused the NRA (National Rifle Association) of being a terrorist organization this week after the NRA filed a lawsuit in Florida against a bill that would increase the age to be able to buy a gun from 18 to 21. The powerful gun lobby filed the lawsuit after Florida Gov. Rick Scott signed legislation after a 19-year-old entered a high school in Parkland and killed 19 people, mostly students. “This bill punishes law-abiding gun owners for the criminal acts of a deranged individual,” said Chris Cox, executive director of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action. ”Securing our schools and protecting our constitutional rights of Americans are not mutually exclusive.” BLM responded by posting on its Twitter account: “The NRA is terrorist organization” over and over again. The two groups have had words in the past, most recently when the police officer who shot Philando Castile in Minnesota over a traffic stop was acquitted.
