Rams head coach Sean McVay and Dodgers first baseman Cody Bellinger were among the local luminaries honored this week at the 13th annual L.A. Sports Awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
The awards, presented by the Los Angeles Sports Council, salute the greatest moments and people of the year in sports.
McVay received the Coach of the Year award, while Bellinger took home the Sportsman of the Year Award. Former USC beach volleyball champs Kelly Claes and Sara Hughes were collectively honored as Sportswomen of the Year.
Casey Wasserman, who led Los Angeles’ successful bid to again host the summer Olympics, was recognized as the Sports Executive of the Year, while retired Los Angeles Kings broadcaster Bob Miller received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
