The Antelope Valley Ballet will present a free performance at the Palmdale City Library, 700 E. Palmdale Blvd, at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 16 as a prelude to the American Classic Christmas event, scheduled for 6 to 9 pm at Poncitlán Square.

After the performance, the library will remain open until 8 pm with limited services.

“Join us at the Palmdale City Library for a prelude to the festivities at the American Classic as the Antelope Valley Ballet brings to life a classic storybook,” said Debbie Petersen, assistant library director.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Palmdale City Library

The Antelope Valley Ballet was founded in the fall of 1998 by Kathleen Burnett and Lara Arnaiz.  Their mission is to provide dancers from across the Antelope Valley region with professional-quality performance opportunities in a company setting; to provide high quality performances locally and regionally, stimulating interest in and appreciation for dance as a performing art. The company also seeks to be a positive force in the cultural climate of the Antelope Valley and the state of California, interacting with and supporting all the arts.

The Palmdale City Library is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday
