Tippi Hedren was sued this week by a woman who claims she was injured on a staircase at an Acton property owned by the actress and animal rights activist.

Blanca Monge filed the personal injury complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeking unspecified damages.

A representative for Hedren could not be immediately reached. Monge’s lawyers also were not immediately available.

According to the lawsuit, Monge slipped and fell on stairs located on the premises owned and managed by Hedren on Soledad Canyon Road last Sept. 11. The lawsuit does not state whether the location was a home or a business, but the address given in the lawsuit is that of the Shambala Preserve animal sanctuary. Hedren founded the Roar Foundation in 1983 to support the preserve.

Hedren, 87, is perhaps most famous for her role in the 1963 Alfred Hitchcock film “The Birds.”
