Bikers will roar on June 10

The popular Thunder on the Lot car show and festival will be conducted on June 10 and 11 at Sgt. Steve Owen Memorial Park, 43063 10th St. West, in Lancaster.

Organizers are accepting entries for the annual classic car, hot rod and motorcycle show. The annual Poker Run has been a favorite for 20 years and will lead bikers on a 100-mile course through the desert countryside. The registration and ride will begin at 7:30 a.m., June 11 at Antelope Valley Harley Davidson, 1759 W. Avenue J12, and will conclude at Sgt. Steven Memorial Park where participants will parade or “thunder” into the actual event thereby becoming part of the festival. Registration for a single rider is $25 and includes a lapel pin and a T-shirt. Passengers are an extra $10 (not including a pin and T-shirt).

The motorcycle show is open to all types and styles two- and three-wheel vehicles with numerous classes in which to compete. More than 60 customized awards are presented to the winners of the multiple classes and will be announced at 4 p.m. June 11 in the Bike Show arena. Registration for the award ceremony is $10.

The Thunder on the Lot car show features hundreds of the southland’s best custom and classic cars. Two-day registration for the car show is $30 and includes a T-shirt, a dash plaque, three raffle entries (for a chance to win a custom transmission), and another three raffle tickets that may be entered to win a high-pro crate engine. More than 50 awards of excellence will be presented such as “best custom” and “best show.” Award recipients will be announced from the car show stage at 3:30 p.m.,P June 11.
