Public Works Day May 25

The city of Lancaster will host on May 25 its annual Public Works Community Day at the City Maintenance Yard, 615 W. Avenue H, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The free event will be held in conjunction with the American Public Works Association’s National Public Works Week scheduled May 21-27.

In recognition of the this year’s theme “Public Works Connects Us,” the day’s activities will showcase the role that public works plays in connecting the community via road and street maintenance, water and sanitation services, etc. The event will include educational tours, interactive exhibits, equipment displays, crafts and games, refreshments and giveaways.

Expected to be on hand will be representatives of the county Sheriff’s and Fire departments, the CHP, and Waste Management. Co-sponsors include Sancon Technologies, Haaker Equipment Company, Sargent Town Planning, Learn 4 Life, Signs + Designs, REVIVE 25, Antelope Valley Engineering, and Granite Construction.
