The city of Santa Clarita was recognized this month in the American Cities of the Future 2017-18 assessment. Santa Clarita was ranked fourth in the “Small American City of the Future” category out of more than 200 contending municipalities.
The results were published by the fDi Intelligence division of Financial Times Magazine. The magazine reviewed key information about Santa Clarita, including economic potential, business friendliness, human capital and lifestyle, as well as cost effectiveness and connectivity.
Inclusion on the list is said to endorse cities throughout North America to potential business partners and foreign investors by publicizing their success rate and economic profitability.
“The city of Santa Clarita is honored to be named an American City of the Future,” said Mayor Cameron Smyth. “The city prioritizes offering a healthy business environment and outstanding business partnerships in the community. The American City of the Future award shows that Santa Clarita is a great place to do business.”
More than 6,000 businesses are based in Santa Clarita, many of which have taken advantage of the city’s tax and incentive programs, as well as its close proximity to major southland business centers.
