Conference helps men of color develop strategies

Los Angeles Southwest College hosts the 17th Manchild Conference Saturday, Feb. 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the college, 1600 W. Imperial Highway, Los Angeles.

Tyrone C. Howard, founder and executive director  of the Black Male Institute at UCLA, is the keynote speaker.

The confab features 13 panel discuissions on subjects ranging from climbing the corporate ladder, education versus incarceration, the Black church, entrepreneurship, manhood and fatherhood in the African, Asian and Latino cultures, civil rights, civil liberties and the prison industrial complex.

The cost to attend is $20 and can be paid at the campus theater. Admission includes woprkshops, lunch, a T-shirt, entetainment and the closing session.

During the history of the conference, more than 15,000 have been given information and strategies to help them develop skills.
