LANCASTER (CNS) – A vehicle collided with a school bus carrying special needs students in Lancaster today, leaving the bus driver and another person critically injured, authorities said.

The crash was reported about 7:15 a.m. at 20th Street East and East Lancaster Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Paramedics transported the injured for hospital treatment, including several people who suffered minor injuries, the county fire department reported. It was not immediately known if the second critically injured person was a student.

The circumstances of the crash were under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
