LOS ANGELES (CNS) – The Board of Supervisors approved a $15,000 reward today for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a gunman who fatally shot a 31-year-old father of two while he was sitting in a car in East Los Angeles.

Supervisor Hilda Solis recommended the reward to find whoever killed Andrew Ruben Fierro on Aug. 22, 2014.

Fierro was parked outside a relative’s house in the 200 block of North Arizona Avenue, waiting for his wife and children, when a car pulled up alongside and someone inside opened fire.

“Mr. Fierro had no criminal record and he was the sole provider for his family,” according to the motion by Solis, who said his widow has a debilitating form of lupus, an autoimmune disease, and has been left in “financial ruins” by her husband’s death.

Investigators said the shooter’s car was a compact with factory red paint, possibly a Honda or Toyota.

Anyone with information was asked to call the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
