The city of Lancaster is accepting public applications to volunteer for the 10th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Jan. 24, 2017.

Each year, the city partners with non-profits and community service organizations to host special events and projects designed as service opportunities. More than 1,200 volunteers pitch in annually as individuals, families and service organizations plant trees and flowers, paint, and generally clean up and refurbish locales throughout the city.

You may register for service opportunities at the city’s web-based volunteer management program, OneLINC. Using the OneLINC platform allows community members to easily search and apply for various service opportunities. The volunteer assignments are available on a first-come, “best-matched” basis.
