Soon Pacific Coast Regional (PCR) will complete a milestone that some may have doubted would ever happen; the organization is on the eve of celebrating 40 years of service.

In those four decades, PCR’s board and staff have been passionate about fulfilling the mission of “… the delivery of financial and educational assistance to underserved small business persons and communities.”

That passion has resulted in more than 2,900 small business loans for $400 million, 10,750 entrepreneurs counseled or trained, and almost 41,000 jobs created or retained.

Despite these successes, the PCR team looks to the future because much remains to be done.

As part of its future, and to make sure PCR’s services are delivered where they are most needed, the organization has embarked on a capital campaign to relocate corporate headquarters to South Los Angeles. To date, PCR has raised $200,000 toward this effort, which represents only 12 percent of what is anticipated to be a $1.7 million expenditure. When this is accomplished, PCR plans to become a beacon for small business loans and technical assistance, for all underserved entrepreneurs throughout South Los Angeles County.

To that end, PCR’s capital campaign will continue with a 401h Anniversary Gala Dinner to be held on May 3, 2017, for which the organization is seeking sponsors with all proceeds to benefit the noted South Los Angeles relocation.
