A man allegedly high on narcotics while driving a stolen vehicle earlier this week led officers on a high-speed chase that ended, when he crashed into two cars in a Palmdale intersection.

Rickey H. Parsons Jr., 32, of Palmdale was arrested and faces multiple charges including felony reckless fleeing from a peace officer, driving a stolen vehicle and driving while intoxicated, according to a California Highway Patrol (CHP) report.

The incident began at approximately 9:36 p.m. Oct. 17, when a CHP officer attempted to stop a 1997 Honda on Rancho Vista Boulevard and 15th Street East. The CHP report stated that the driver failed to stop at a red light and a 12-mile pursuit began.

“Parsons failed to stop for a red traffic signal at 47th Street East and Avenue R while fleeing from the CHP and collided with two vehicles,” the report stated.

Parsons hit a Toyota and a Honda. The driver of the Toyota, Rolando Martinez, 43, of Palmdale and passenger Blanca Martinez, 53, also of Palmdale, sustained minor injuries. A third passenger in the Toyota, 25-year-old Marisol Herrera, was treated at the scene and released. In the Honda, Marin Rodriguez, 33, of Palmdale and 60-year-old Efren Guzman of Sun Valley were each treated at the scene and released.

Parsons suffered major injuries. He was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital with a compound fracture to his left leg and bleeding in his brain.
