A man was arrested today for allegedly pushing his mother out of a second-story window during an argument at an Van Nuys apartment building, resulting in her death, police said.
The woman, who was in her 70s, was fatally injured about 3 a.m. in the 7400 block of Hazeltine Avenue and died at a hospital, said Los Angeles police Officer Norma Eisenman.
Her son, who’s in his 40s, was booked on suspicion of murder. His name was not immediately released, nor was that of his mother.
According to the preliminary investigation, the pair had been arguing before he allegedly pushed her from the window. He then jumped from the window and attacked his mother on the ground, Eisenman alleged.
