The US Black Chamber of Commerce invites entrepreneurs with an idea for a mobile app, service or product that will make the world a better place, to submit an application for the 2016 Mobileys competition.

The deadline to send in your application is Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

The Mobileys, produced by Mobile Future, is a annual competition that recognizes early-stage apps, services, and products that use mobile. The top prize is $10,000, exposure that can help the developer(s) secure additional funding, and a trip to Washington, D.C., to meet innovation policy leaders.

In addition to the first place prize, entrepreneurs can win $5,000 for second place and $2,500 in third place. There is also a People’s Choice award of $2,500.

Applicants should be an individual or be affiliated with a small U.S. company that has either produced a mobile product or app or is within six months of having launched a mobile product or app.

Winners will be announced in November and must be able to demostrate their innovation during the presentation ceremony. The nominated product must run on wireless networks (not just Wi-Fi).

To start the process, go to the Mobileys website at https://themobileys.com and submit your application. Be prepared to tell about you, your team, and your mobile app/product/service; present your elevator pitch (in 250 words or less); describe the current status of your app/product; discuss the impact of your mobile app/product/service and why it is a game changer. You should also be able to articulate the biggest challenge facing your team. Next, be able to discuss what you have planned for your mobile app/product/service, your immediate next steps, as well as where you see yourself one year from now and how you would use the prize money.
