DryTown Water Park in Palmdale will offer a special “Bring Dad Free” promotion on Father’s Day, June 19.

“The heat may be on here in the Antelope Valley,  but we’ve got the perfect way to help keep the dads cool–give them a Father’s Day treat with a free pass to DryTown,” said park manager Eric Dombrowski. “Kid’s can bring their dads in free with their paid admission.”

The water park is open daily through Aug. 7; it is open on weekends from Aug. 13 through Sept. 11. This summer will feature seven special events at the park, beginning June 24 through Aug. 5 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Season pass holders will be admitted free (available at www.drytownwaterpark.com).

“Sundown at DryTown gives people the chance to enjoy those beautiful summer evenings we have here in the Antelope Valley,” Dombrowski added.

The special events will include Hometown Heroes Week from June 27 through July 3. Admission will be free to all doctors, nurses, EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement and active military and veterans. In September, the park will host Teacher Appreciation Month with all educators receiving free admission.

DryTown Water Park is a six-acre facility with an old-West mining town theme. It offers a 925-food lazy river, a 35-foot waterslide tower with three waterslides and a splashdown pool, a 6,000-square-foot children’s water playground (including a 50-gallon vortex “splash bucket”), three water rings and two water cannons. Also featured is the new Dusty’s Mindshaft Racer which is a four-lane racer that launches riders headfirst into a 360-degree turn in an enclosed tube before plunging 40 feet down open-air lanes for a downhill dash to the finish line–not to mention a serious drenching.

Dusty’s Grill at Subway this summer will operate the food and beverage concessions; the regular Subway menu will be available and visitors can also partake in park favorites such as pizza, cold drinks and yogurt parfaits.

“DryTown Water park offers an exciting, family-friendly park where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the water, great food and comfortable atmosphere,” said Laura Rice, Palmdale recreation coordinator. “It’s also available for group activities and private rentals.” Special rates are available for youth  groups, teams, companies, family reunions, church groups, schools fundraisers, organizations and camps.
