Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders will bring his Democratic presidential campaign to the Southland tomorrow, holding a rally at Cal State Dominguez Hills one week before his rival, Hillary Clinton, comes to town for a pair of fundraisers. According to the campaign, Sanders will discuss various issues at the rally “including getting big money out of politics, his plan to make public colleges and universities tuition-free, combating climate change and ensuring universal health care.” The rally will be held at the tennis stadium at StubHub Center, 18400 Avalon Blvd. The event is free and open to the public, although the campaign encouraged people to RSVP online. Admission will be first-come, first-served, with doors opening at 5 p.m. Due to security concerns, attendees are being asked not to bring bags, and carry only small personal items such as keys and cell phones. Weapons, harp objects, chairs, signs, banners and sticks will not be permitted. Sanders is campaigning today in Puerto Rico. Sanders’ campaign last week announced the creation of a Southern California steering committee, led by Los Angeles City Councilman Gil Cedillo and former Councilman Robert Farrell. “Not since the Rainbow Coalition of 1988 have we seen such a diverse

and progressive movement for the heart and soul of the Democratic Party,” Cedillo said. “Bernie Sanders will win California and we look forward to one of the most exciting Democratic conventions of our lifetime.” Sanders’ visit will come seven days before Clinton brings her campaign to Los Angeles for a pair of fundraisers. Next Monday, Clinton will attend an event at the home of Bryan Lourd, managing partner of the Creative Artists Agency talent agency, and Bruce Bozzi, co-owner of The Palm restaurant chain. She will also attend an evening fundraiser in Hancock Park. Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is expected to visit Los Angeles May 25 to begin an aggressive fundraising campaign, with a

dinner at the home of investor Thomas Barrack Jr., chairman and CEO of Colony Capital. California voters will head to the polls June 7 for the presidential primary election.
