Todd Davis, a member of the 2016 Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos, will host on July 16 a free one-day youth Football Camp and Health Expo at Antelope Valley College.

The camp will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be co-hosted by Davis’ non-profit foundation A P.L.U.S Living (Awakening Purposeful Lives Unleashing Superstars). Davis prepped at Paraclete High School in Lancaster. Although the camp is currently full, youth 6 to 18 years are encouraged to register on a waiting list at www.todddavisaplus.org.

The co-ed, non-contact camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of football and to improve the participants’ beginning, intermediate or advanced skill levels. During the day, the fundamentals of all offensive and defensive positions will be taught, in addition to important life skills such as respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, teamwork and the importance of education. There will be a “seven-on-seven” passing league tournament with participants grouped based on age and skill level, and subsequently assigned to coaches based on their position, need and skill level. Lunch will be served and attendees will receive a signature “swag bag” as well as a limited edition T-shirt.

More than 450 youth and their families participated in last year’s camp, therefore organizers decided to add the health expo this year. Attendees will have an opportunity to receive health screenings, dental exams, blood pressure screenings, join a Zumba class and attend nutrition discussions. Spaces and sponsorships are available for businesses and other non-profits (download a vendor application at www.todddavisaplus.org/become-a-vendor).

Davis’ foundation will host on July 14 a celebrity golf tournament at Rancho Vista Golf Club, 3905 Club Rancho Dr., in Palmdale. The entry fee is $180 ($640 per foursome) which will include green fees and a cart, a signature golf shirt, and a catered lunch. Register at www.todddavisaplus.org/celebrity-golf-tournament. The next day, a bowling tournament will take place at the BEX Underground Bowling League in Lancaster from 7 to 10 p.m. Included will be a celebrity silent auction, raffles and prizes, a celebrity guest bartender, and a food and dessert buffet. Prior to the tournament, a “meet and greet” will take place at 6 p.m. where supporters can meet Davis and other NFL players. The minimum pledge is $50. Proceeds from both fundraising events will benefit A P.L.U.S.

Among the sponsors and supporters of the football camp, golf tournament and bowling event are the city of Lancaster, AV Web Designs, BHE Renewables, Camacho Auto, Hunter Dodge, R. Rex Parris Law Firm, Sol Graphics, and Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich
