Police asked for the public’s help today to find an armed man captured on surveillance video committing several robberies at businesses in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles. Between April 23 and Friday, the suspect committed three robberies and two attempted robberies, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The locations were in the 3300 block of Pico Boulevard, 1700 block of South Western

Avenue, 1500 block of South Western Avenue and 2200 block of Washington Boulevard. In each incident, the suspect would casually walk into a business carrying bags that he placed on the cashier’s counter. He would then lift up his sweatshirt and display a handgun while ordering employees to place money into the bag. The gunman made away with a large amount of money from three of the robberies and was last seen fleeing on a BMX bicycle. He is black, between 20 and 30, 5 feet 8 and about 180 pounds. LAPD Olympic Station detectives asked anyone with any information regarding the robberies or the suspect to call them at (213) 382-9102.
