A man was shot and wounded four times in a drive-by
shooting early this morning in the unincorported Westmont area of Los Angeles
County, the sheriff’s department reported.
The attack took place near the intersection of 96th Street and Budlong
Avenue about 2:15 a.m., according to Sgt. Paul Schuerger, watch commander at
the sheriff’s South Los Angeles station.
“The victim was standing on the street when he was shot four times,”
Schuerger said.
The man’s wounds were not life-threatening, Schuerger said. He was
reported in stable condition this morning.
A motive for the shooting was unknown. It was not immediately determined
if the shooting was gang-related.
