Toi Chisom is the new city manager in Lancaster. Chisom, a former manager of the city of Santa Clarita Recreation and Community Services department, will be responsible for the analysis, development, start-up and operational transition for Lancaster’s latest programs and initiatives, as well as the cultivation of private-sector opportunities and partnerships. While working in Santa Clarita, Chisom was responsible for managing a $7.5 million annual budget.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Toi Chisom to our city’s leadership team,” said Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris. “Ms. Chisom brings a wealth of municipal experience with her, and we know she will be a valuable asset to the city of Lancaster.”

Chisom was a 14-year veteran with the city of Santa Clarita, operating in multiple management-level capacities and spearheading a number of high-profile projects. She holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology/political science from Cal State Northridge, and a master’s degree in public administration from Cal State Long Beach.

“I am honored to join the city of Lancaster team,” Chisom said recently. “I look forward to working together with council and staff to successfully serve Lancaster residents and further the vision of the city.”
