The Junior Dixon Foundation will host its 10th annual Walk-A-Thon and Health Fair April 9 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m at St. Andrews Recreation Center, 8701 S. St. Andrews Place in Los Angeles.
Under the theme “Walking Today So That Others Can Walk Tomorrow,” the yearly event helps to provide prosthetic limbs to children and veterans in need. The group works to provide scholarships and assists various community organizations by increasing health awareness. Some booths are available for rent for vendors and there will be raffle drawings throughout the afternoon. Free hot dogs and refreshments will also be available.
The foundation will honor women veterans that afternoon.
