Southland football fans will be able to get their fill of the Rams’ return to Los Angeles, with the team being announced Wednesday as this year’s subject of HBO’s acclaimed “Hard Knocks” documentary series.

“Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Los Angeles Rams” will debut Aug. 9, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the team’s preparations for its return season in the Southland. It will be narrated by actor Liev Schreiber.

“This is an exciting time for our franchise,” Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said. ‘Hard Knocks’ will be an outstanding way to bring our fans into our training camp and preseason, and give a glimpse of the hard work and dedication of our players, coaches and staff as we prepare for the 2016 season.”

The series, now in its 11th season, is a collaboration between HBO and NFL Films. This will be the first time an NFC West team will be featured on the show. Last season focused on the Houston Texans. It has previously featured the Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins and Atlanta Falcons.

“It’s exciting to chronicle a franchise with so many compelling storylines, highlighted by the team’s return to the Los Angeles market and the enormously warm reception the Rams are experiencing,” said Peter Nelson, executive vice president of HBO Sports.
