Man arrested in attempted murder

A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, after another man was shot during an argument in Palmdale, the sheriff’s department reported Thursday.

The shooting in the 1200 block of West Rancho Vista Boulevard was reported at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s department said.

Responding deputies found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to witnesses, the victim was arguing with a man who pulled out a gun and shot him. The gunman then fled the scene, according to the sheriff’s department.

The victim was listed in stable condition, according to the sheriff’s department. The suspect’s description and his vehicle description were distributed to other sheriff’s stations. Deputies from Lancaster located the suspect and placed him under arrest Wednesday night in the Stater Brother’s grocery store parking lot in the 2800 block of West Avenue L, according to the sheriff’s department.

The man was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and was being held in lieu of $1 million in bail, according to the department. His name was not immediately released by authorities.
