Audition for ‘Wizard of Oz’

Calling all would-be wizards, witches and munchkins. The Palmdale Playhouse is offering at 6 p.m. tonight a final opportunity to audition for its upcoming musical production of L. Frank Baum’s “Wizard of Oz.” The auditions will be conducted at the Playhouse, 38334 10th St. East in Palmdale.

All roles are available and youth ages 12 and older may audition. Singers, dancers are also needed; librettos will be provided. Auditioners should bring a current biography and photo, dress comfortably, prepare 16 bars of music to demonstrate vocal range, bring along sheet music or a pre-recorded accompaniment track, and be prepared to learn a short dance routine.

Rehearsals will take place from January through March 2016. Specific dates and times will be announced later.

Produced with special permission from Tams-Witmark, the play will run on Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5, at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee at 2 p.m. on March 6.
