The Palmdale City Library will host a free conflict management class at 6 p.m. Oct. 28. The library is located at 700 E. Palmdale Blvd.

Denise Yusuff, a local professional mediator, will lead the class and will teach participants about the most practical and effective ways to reduce conflict as well as how to handle it in a positive way and, despite disagreements, maintain positive relationships with family, neighbors and coworkers.

“We encounter conflict every day,” Yusuff said. “Conflict can present itself at work or in our personal lives. These are techniques which will help you handle disagreements with those people sometimes closest to you.”

Yusuff is an alumni of Cornell University and received a jurist doctorate from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minn. She volunteers with Centinela Youth Services in the Los Angeles area and the Center for Civic Mediation in West Hollywood. Her Denise Yusuff Mediations practice is located in Palmdale.

The library is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
