A 27-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in Washington, D.C., on sex-related charges involving boys who attended the Albert Einstein Academy in Santa Clarita, where he was a basketball coach.

Randolph Jackson is charged with crimes involving five boys between the ages of 13 and 17 years old, and is awaiting extradition, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. Jackson was suspended from his coaching position at Einstein, according to the D.A.’s office, but school officials have yet to comment on his employment status at the campus.

A felony complaint filed on Feb. 13 has charged Jackson with eight felony and 12 misdemeanor counts involving crimes that allegedly occurred between November 2010 and last month. A half-dozen of the felony charges—one count each of alleged continuous sexual abuse, oral copulation of a person under 16 and sodomy of a person under 16 and three counts of attempted oral copulation of a person under 16—involve one alleged victim. The other two felony charges of lewd acts upon a child are reported to involve a second alleged victim.

Jackson, who is also charged with three misdemeanor counts of child molestation and nine misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure, faces more than 30 years in state prison if convicted, according to the D.A.’s office.
