Palmdale to host certification classes for property managers and landlords

Palmdale will host a series of California Certified Residential Manager (CCRM) workshops for property managers and landlords presented by the California Apartment Association (CAA) designed to prepare participants for certification.

The workshops will be held at the Clubhouse at Boulders 1, 40701 Rancho Vista Blvd. in Palmdale. The classes will take place on four consecutive Thursdays beginning on Jan. 8, 2015 with the last class and final exam on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015.

“We’re pleased to be partnering with Newport Pacific and the CAA to offer these classes and help interested mangers and landlords obtain their certification,” said Palmdale Housing Coordinator Terri-Lei Wheeler.  “CAA is the premier organization in California supporting landlords and managers with technical assistance to help them realize a maximum return on investment and a property that is compliant with applicable laws.”

Class topics include “Preparing the Property and Professional Leasing Skills,” “Move-In Process, Rent Collections and Notices,” “Resident Issues and Ending the Tenancy,” “Professional Skills for Supervisors,” “Maintenance Management: Maintaining a Property,” “Liability & Risk Management: Protecting the Investment,” “Budget Development and Implementation,” “Fair Housing: It’s the Law,” and “Ethics in Property Management.” There will also be a CCRM final exam offered on Feb. 5, 2015 at 1pm.

Class fees are $95 each for CCRM members and $125 each for future members. The full series of classes may be purchased at a discount of $799 for members and $1,099 for future members.
