Palmdale will host a blood drive Tuesday, Dec. 16, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Poncitlán Square.

All donors will receive a coupon good for a free pint of Baskin-Robbins ice cream.

To sign up for the blood drive, please call (661) 267-5229 or email kinman@cityofpalmdale.org.

“Our blood drive will support Providence Health and Services, a non-profit Catholic hospital organization,” said Kathy Inman with the Palmdale Planning Division. “They collect blood for their Southern California hospitals including Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, which has the second largest privately-owned trauma center in Los Angeles County. Many Antelope Valley residents are brought to Holy Cross in Mission Hills because of the trauma center.”

“Everyone who uses these facilities are served regardless of religion or ability to pay,” Inman said. “The donations that are collected go directly to their patients rather than purchasing blood from one of the other companies.”
