Palmdale concludes ‘Season of Service’

The city of Palmdale will conclude its 2014 “Season of Service” program tomorrow with a “Mormon Helping Hands Day” clean up/makeover of Desert Sands Park, 39117 3rd Street East in Palmdale as part of the city’s participation in the “National Day of Service” in recognition Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, residents are encouraged to join in on the makeover, which will will begin at 8:30 a.m. Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult. All participants must complete a Release of Liability (available at www.cityofpalmdale.org or at event registration). Participants are requested to wear close-toed shoes and be prepared/able to walk over uneven terrain, and use work gloves and sun protection. Water will be provided. Verification of service hours is available.
