Career specialist Joanna Mitchell hosts Job Search Boot Camp

The city of Lancaster is offering residents the opportunity to renovate their careers through a new Job Search Boot Camp workshop led by expert career specialist, Joanna Mitchell. Offered six times from January through March 2014 in both east and central Lancaster locations, this new workshop will help participants break through whatever barriers they seem to be up against in their search for work or promotional opportunity.

From effective job search techniques to interview skills, the Job Search Boot Camp will provide participants with “the edge” they need when searching for a job, including how to break into the “hidden job market.”

Mitchell began her career with a non-profit food bank in Lancaster where she developed employment and life-skills classes called the P.O.W.E.R. Program. After seven years of running this successful program, Mitchell went back to school to complete her bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership (2007). Since then, she has been working full-time as a career specialist, coaching and assisting people in finding jobs and advancing their careers.

In addition, Mitchell is heavily involved the job market of the Antelope Valley, helping to organize job fairs and cultivating relationships with employers. In 2010, she opened her private business, the Ultimate Power Program, which grew out of a passion to reach greater numbers of people. Her coaching techniques are compassionate and are said to compel people into taking action to improve their lives. Mitchell has a reputable track record of helping people become employed by helping them discover the techniques that work to produce results and inspire the job seeker to reach higher to achieve their goals.

City Hall hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
