The producers of 10 films were nominated today for the Producers Guild of America’s Darryl F. Zanuck Award for motion pictures, an honor that traditionally leads to best-picture honors on Oscar night.

Nominated for the coveted prize were the producers of “12 Years a Slave,” “American Hustle,” “Blue Jasmine,” “Captain Phillips,” “Dallas Buyers Club,” “Gravity,” “Her,” “Nebraska,” “Saving Mr. Banks,” and “Wolf of Wall Street.”

The winner of the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures often mirrors that success at the Academy Awards, including last year, when “Argo” collected the PGA award and the Academy Award for best picture.

PGA nominations for animated films went to “The Croods,” “Despicable Me 2,” “Epic,” “Frozen” and “Monsters University.”

The Producers Guild Awards will be presented Jan. 19 at the Beverly Hilton.

Left out of the running was the civil rights saga “Lee Daniels’ The Butler.”
