The FBI has joined the search for a 14-year-old girl who was kidnapped early Tuesday from her home in an Atlanta suburb by two armed men during a home invasion.

Ayvani Hope Perez was last seen wearing blue and gray Star Wars pajama bottoms and a blue and gray superhero shirt, according to the details of the Amber Alert issued after she was abducted. She is Hispanic, has black hair and brown eyes, is 4 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 93 pounds. She may be traveling in a gray Dodge.

The two suspects, described as Black men who were wearing dark clothing, pried open the family’s back door at around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday in Ellenwood, Georgia, according to police. Perez’ mother told investigators she tried to hide her two children but the gunmen found them and demanded money and jewelry.

Police say the two men shot the family dog — which survived — and abducted Ayvani after the family failed to meet their demands.

Anyone with information about Ayvani or the suspects is urged to contact the Clayton County Police Department at 678-610-4781.
