Two winners of the Golden Spoon Award at the Taste of Palmdale are planning to return to the event this year to defend their championships.
The Taste of Palmdale is slated for Sept. 26 from 5-9 p.m. in the parking lot of the Macy’s at the Antelope Valley Mall, 1233 Rancho Vista Blvd., Palmdale.
Nadia Cakes will come back to see if the company can repeat in the desserts category while the Embassy Suites restaurant 14 returns seeking another top-place finish in this division.
Twenty-five restaurants from fast food eateries like McDonalds to fine dining establishments will be joined by an estimated 10 to 11 local wineries as well as dessert makers to offer tastes of their cuisine and drinks.
Participants will vote to determine who has the best food and wins the Golden Spoon in the restaurant and dessert categories.
In addition to the free food tastings, the Taste of Palmdale will feature entertainment by the Joel Hatcher band.
The Hatcher band primarily plays Blues, however, a variety of roots American music such as the sounds of New Orleans Funk, Soul, and Blues-based Rock (from the 60’s and 70’s) are all included in their musical mix.
The cost to attend is $30 for general admission in advance and $40 at the door. This will entitle participants to the food and wine tastings, but does not guarantee a seat or table.
Reserved seating for $100 includes: admission for two, reserved seats in the reserved area, two glasses of wine for each person, all water and soda included, four opportunity drawing tickets per person, two Taste of Palmdale commemorative wine glasses, and two Taste of Palmdale keepsake bags.
A VIP table at $400 includes: a table of eight in the reserved area, a server, two bottles of wine, all water and soda, four opportunity drawing tickets per person, eight Taste of Palmdale Wine Glasses, and eight Taste of Palmdale Keepsake Bags.
