Coroner identifies man found inside Inglewood townhome with injuries to his face

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The coroner today identified the man found inside an Inglewood townhome with apparent injuries to his face.

He was Alfonzo Goree, 43, of Inglewood, said coroner’s Investigator Kristy McCracken.

Inglewood police were investigating Goree’s death as a homicide, a sergeant said today.

Officers were dispatched to the residence at 560 West Olive St. at 3:08 p.m. on Saturday, regarding a person down that was lying on the floor, unconscious and bleeding, according to Inglewood police Sgt. Nelson Arriaga.

“Upon arrival, officers found a male black adult, lying face down on the floor with apparent injuries to his face,” according to Arriaga.

L.A. County paramedics pronounced the victim, now identified as Goree, dead at the scene, he said.
