Businesses who sign up as sponsors of the Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix also have an opportunity to enter the competition as a driver in the VIP event, and the deadline to get involved in this is Aug. 7. Registering by that date will enable participants to attend the mandatory sponsors’ practice races on Aug. 8-9.
People interested in being a vendor at the fifth annual Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix can begin checking the event website in about two weeks to get details on how to sign up. The website is at www.streetsoflancaster.com.
Each year Lancaster organizes one of the West Coast’s largest professional go-kart street races which draws hundreds of contestants from around the nation and more than 10,000 spectators.
The event this year will happen Sept. 27-29 in downtown in conjunction with a street fair and festival Sept. 28-29.
