On July 20th, the Watts Healthy Farmers’ Market will celebrate its sixth anniversary with a party.
Attendees can look forward to a day of fun activities such as:
• Fun 5k Run at 8:30 a.m.
• Zumba classes
• Live music performances
• Bounce house and rock climbing
• Facepainting
• Crafts for kids
• Cooking demos with Chef Gill Boyd, chief instructor at Le Cordon Bleu LA
• The Mobile Mural Project: Local artists will unveil a community mural to celebrate the market’s anniversary and to commemorate Naked Juice’s donation to Sustainable Economic Enterprises of Los Angeles (SEE-LA)
• Free cake
The Market will also be providing Market Match for Calfresh/EBT, WIC and Senior FMNP customers. Market Match provides an extra $2 for fresh fruit and veggies for every $5 spent at the market (while supplies lasts).
The Watts Healthy Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday at Ted Watkins Park, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
