“This is the time to step up, because our youth need you,” said Jean Franklin, director of (UJCC), which along with Teleion Mentoring, PVJOBS, Anchor of Hope Re-entry Ministry and Consultant Entertainment are presenting the event.

The program includes the “Hour of Power Hip Hop Show” featuring Moses the Prophet and Lady Shofar, along with Anexx the Mime; ANTHNTCPPLE; Authentic People; Du2ce; E Dot Marie; and the NPHC Fraternity & Sorority Steppers. Additionally, a youth empowerment speakout entitled “Community Solutions to Mass Youth Incarceration” will feature guest speakers Joe Paul Jr., as well as authors Givanni Stephen, who wrote “7 Digits & a Barcode” and Jemeker Thompson, who penned “Queen Pin.”

The free cookout will feature hamburgers and hot dogs.

“We want the community to come out and learn about the Teleion Mentoring and Positive Pathways Programs, where youth, ages 16-24, are matched with selected mentors,” Franklin said.

“We also have summer youth employment partnerships,” Franklin added. “And networking with representatives from local organizations as they share empowering tools and resources to become mentors.”
