Artists are invited to submit two and three-dimensional work (including altars) that examine rituals honoring the deceased and/or that pay tribute to departed ancestors for possible inclusion in an exhibition called “Sacred Memories: Contemporary and Cross Cultural Expressions of Day of the Dead.”
The show, which will be on view Oct. 25 to Nov. 24, is being presented by El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical monument and El Pueblo Park Association. Interactive and interpretive works are particularly encouraged.
The deadline to submit a maximum of six entries is July 1 by 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
Submissions will be accepted for mail-in or email as digital images (i.e. jpeg) or photographic prints.
