LOS ANGELES, Calif.–All lanes of La Cienega Boulevard were reopened this morning in Baldwin Hills after a section of the roadway was closed overnight because some pavement buckled.

The street was closed in both directions between Stocker Street and Rodeo Road late Tuesday night, according to the Los Angeles Department of Transportation.

One southbound lane was reopened around 4:30 a.m., and the rest of the lanes were reopened about two hours later.

The buckling was discovered by a motorcycle officer, said Officer Bruce Borihanh, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.

The northbound lanes were closed first, beginning around 9 p.m. Tuesday, and the remaining lanes were shut down around an hour later, after LADOT inspectors examined the pavement, Borihanh said.
