Seasoned actress Meagan Good (“Think Like a Man”) is set to star in NBC’s very spicy drama “Deception,” premiering Monday, Jan. 7 at 10 p.m.

Good stars as Detective Joanna Locasto who goes undercover to investigate the death of her childhood friend. “Deception” is in a word, juicy. It’s about the rich and powerful and their dirty little secrets that lead to murder, cover-ups and more.

The Locasto role is a tough one, just the ticket for Good who literally grew up in front of the camera. Beginning at the age of 4, this California girl has paid her dues and she is more than equipped to take on the demanding role of Locasto, from taking down the bad guys to getting cozy with two ex-lovers. This girl is hot.

Good showed audiences she had major star potential in her role as disgruntled preteen Cisely Batiste in Kasi Lemmons’ 1997 “Eve’s Bayou.” Her coldness and treachery showed she could deliver more than just your average teenage angst.

In the years that followed, Good starred in a variety of television and film productions enabling her to hone her skills in roles spanning a biker babe, a damsel in horror distress, a sexy video girl and the girl next door.

“Deception” is based on lie upon lie. Locasto learns of her friends’ death through FBI agent Will Moreno (Laz Alonso), who just happens to be Locasto’s ex-lover. Her friend is wealthy socialite and notorious party girl Vivian Bowers who is found dead of an overdose. No one is really surprised. The heiress to the Bowers’ pharmaceutical empire has been tabloid fodder for years: wild, pretty, privileged… and now dead at 32.

But for FBI agent Moreno, things don’t add up with this suspicious dynasty. Convinced that the troubled girl’s death was a homicide, he has a clever plan to get to the truth.  He needs someone on the inside, and Locasto is the perfect candidate. Twenty years ago she was Bower’s best friend and practically grew up inside the Bowers home.  Locasto’s mother, played by S. Epatha Merkerson (“Law & Order”) was a live-in maid.

Locasto goes undercover and quickly begins to uncover dark secrets and clues of what could have led to her friend’s death. Things get even more complicated because she rekindles an old romantic relationship with her dead friend’s brother. Juicy enough for you? This is only a hint of what you can expect.
